Sponge that boils water without electricity
Researchers from MIT have announced the invention of a new kind of device, which can boil water without electricity. The device can heat water up to 212 degrees using energy from the sun. It doesn’t need bright, sunny days to work and doesn’t use lens or other focusing mechanisms to harness solar energy. The device is based on a sponge-like solar absorbing material they had developed in 2014.
